Bill Westerman
Bill has been a professional manager in the public service, for some years before becoming coordinator (secretary, manager) of Vegan World Network.
In 1979 he was an inaugural member of Animal Liberation (NSW).
In 1981 he was the Interim Secretary of the Vegan Society (NSW) and went on to occupy a number of positions on the committee, including the Coordinator for several years until 1986.
In 1990, he created Vegan Australasia Network and has worked as Coordinator.
Also in 1990, Bill became involved in discussions with Cor Nouws and other Vegans around the world, for the creation of "Vegans International". In 1992, Bill was appointed as Country Coordinator of Vegans International for Australia, a position he held until December 1996, when he resigned at the General Meeting to pursue further studies.
After the demise of Vegans International, Bill formed Vegan World Network in 1997, this time avoiding financial concerns by functioning via the Network's Website and the Internet. He has continued as Coordinator until the present day.
Bill's skills in managing a human-oriented group were reinforced by working as Coordinator (Manager) for a Community House in his local town, and facilitator of a Men's Group, from 1997 until 2001. He has also occupied the positions of President, Secretary and Committee Member of the Australian Nature Cure Practitioners Association Incorporated.
